Cancel Culture Club & Spa (CCC&S) is a performative project centered around conviviality, community and solidarity, that gathers artists, art workers, scholars and activists from across
the Nordic region and beyond. CCC&S is a platform to exchange, analyze, and critically engage with the phenomenon of widespread cases of censorship, attacks, and intimidations against artistic practices situated at the intersection between emancipatory politics, institutional critique and solidarity movements.

The project appropriates the term “cancel culture” as a form of satire, self-critique and political commentary. By subverting the use of the term, we aim to dissect the anatomy of these cases, refine our strategies, and sharpen our tools of resistance.

CCC&S is articulated through an exhibition and a six-day symposium with interventions, workshops, film screenings, lectures and a series of in-depth case studies, all accompanied by sauna sessions. The symposiums are divided between a public programme and a programme by invitation only. CCC&S will end with a grand finissage on Saturday 21st of December from 22:00 throughout the night and open to everyone.

CCC&S is organised by artists Hanan Benammar, Katrine Dirckinck-Holmfeld and Miriam Haile in collaboration with Nitja Centre for Contemporary Art.

Benammar & Dirckinck-Holmfeld are now working on a forthcoming CCCS2, which will take place in Sweden 2026/2027.

CCC&S is supported by Art’s Council Norway and Nordic Culture Fund.
